16-year-old shot, killed in Peoplestown neighborhood, Atlanta police say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta police said a 16-year-old was shot to death at a southeast Atlanta home late Saturday night.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Linam Avenue SE in the Peoplestown neighborhood around 11 p.m. in reference to a person shot, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Responding officers said they found a 16-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound.
The boy was transported to the hospital, “but despite lifesaving efforts he succumbed to his injuries,” police said.
Homicide detectives are working to determine the circumstances of the shooting. More than 12 hours later, officers were still on scene Sunday.
Police have not said if they have identified suspects or made any arrests.
