University of Arkansas chancellor search narrowed to two finalists – Talk Business & Politics

UA System President Dr. Donald Bobbitt introduced Sept. 2 that 4 finalists for the highest job on the state’s flagship college. The finalists have been: Charles Robinson, Ph.D., interim chancellor, College of Arkansas; Jay Akridge, Ph.D., provost and government vp for educational affairs, Purdue College; Daniel Reed, Ph.D., presidential professor of computational science, College of Utah; and Cynthia Younger, Ph.D., founding dean of the School of Sciences, Clemson College.

Robinson, the provost and government vice chancellor for Tutorial and Scholar Affairs on the UA, has been interim chancellor since Aug. 16, 2021. Invoice Kincaid had served as performing chancellor after former chancellor Joe Steinmetz resigned on June 18.

The finalists have been chosen with the assistance of a search committee chaired by Dr. Kim Needy, chair of the School of Engineering. The finalists participated in a public discussion board as part of two-day visits to campus, together with conferences with college students, school, workers and college supporters.
