Thursday Headlines: Kentucky Volleyball vs. Arkansas in NCAA Sweet 16

The Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball team is preparing for its Sweet 16 matchup, and the opponent is a familiar one.

The 8-seed Wildcats take on SEC foe 9-seed Arkansas in the Sweet 16 this evening.

Kentucky owns a pair of wins over Arkansas this season, a 3-2 win at home back on Oct. 22 as well as a 3-0 win in Fayetteville just one month later.

Kentucky coach Craig Skinner knows beating a team three times isn’t easy, and this will be a tough matchup for his squad.

“They know us well, we know them well, but it’s the first time we’ve played them in the NCAA Tournament, and that’s how we have to look at it,” Skinner said. “Sure, there’s some fine-tuning they’ve done since we’ve played them, and there’s been some adjustments that we’ve made, so there will be some new wrinkles they will have to defend on us and us on them.”

The winner of today’s matchup in Lincoln, Nebraska, will advance to take on the winner of the other matchup between the host Nebraska and Georgia Tech.

Remember, you can also catch today’s matchup on ESPNU at 4:30 ET.
