Study: Arkansas among 10 states with highest rates of sexual harassment
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Recent data shows that Arkansas has one of the highest rates of sexual harassment compared to the rest of the country.
The study conducted by Mayfair Legal Funding looked at the number of sexual harassment charges between 2018 and 2021 in all 50 states.
Arkansas ranked 10th in the country at a rate of 3.27 out of 100,000 people.
West Virginia ranked number one in the country for sexual harassment charges at a rate of 5.12 out of 100,000 people.
“The findings highlight that rates have decreased over the years; however, this does not provide clear evidence that rates of sexual harassment are actually decreasing or if victims are simply not filing charges out of fear, for example,” said a spokesperson for Mayfair Legal Funding. “The concerning figures in this study highlights why businesses must implement thorough sexual harassment policies and regularly meet with employees to ensure a safe and productive workplace for everyone.”
