No. 10 Arkansas bounces back from opening set, downs No. 12 Tennessee

The No. 10 Arkansas volleyball team dropped the opening set, but bounced back to claim a 3-1 (25-27, 25-16, 25-22, 25-20) win over No. 12 Tennessee on Friday night.
It was the Razorbacks’ first win in Knoxville, Tenn., in nine years.
Outside hitter Taylor Head registered a double-double with a match-high 24 kills to go with 21 digs for Arkansas (18-2, 8-0 SEC), which remained atop the SEC standings.
Maggie Cartwright added 13 kills, while teammates Jill Gillen and Sania Petties chipped in 12 and 11, respectively. Setter Hannah Hogue also contributed a double-double with 49 assists, a team-best 28 digs and 2 aces. Zoi Evans also added 6 blocks (1 solo), while Petties and Cartwright had 4 blocks apiece.
Tennessee fell to 16-3 overall and 7-2 in league play.
The victory extended Arkansas’ win streak to 16 matches. Their only losses came Aug. 30-31 against top-ranked Wisconsin.
The Razorbacks continue their road trip at noon Central on Sunday at No. 20 Kentucky (9-7, 7-1). The matchup will determine which team owns first place in the SEC.
Arkansas is the only unbeaten team in league play and has a one-game lead over the Wildcats. That match will be televised on SEC Network.
