Liberty ranked, Arkansas receiving votes in latest AP poll
FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas will host a ranked soccer group in its return to Reynolds Razorback Stadium subsequent weekend.
Liberty is ranked No. 23 on this week’s Related Press Prime 25. The Flames (7-1) are scheduled to play the Razorbacks (5-3) at 3 p.m. Saturday on SEC Community.
Unranked final week, Liberty joined the AP rankings after a number of groups fell out of the ballot. The Flames acquired the second-most votes final week by a group that was unranked. They haven’t performed since a 41-14 victory over BYU on Oct. 22.
Liberty is within the AP ballot for the primary time because it completed the 2020 season ranked seventeenth. The Flames have certified for a bowl for the fourth consecutive season beneath Hugh Freeze, the previous coach at Ole Miss and Arkansas State.
It is going to be the third time Freeze brings a ranked group to Fayetteville. His Ole Miss groups have been ranked eighth in 2014 and twelfth in 2016 once they misplaced by scores of 30-0 and 34-30, respectively.
Arkansas acquired 11 factors within the AP ballot this week — seventh most amongst unranked groups. The Razorbacks, who have been ranked tenth previous to a loss to Texas A&M in September that started a three-game dropping streak, have gained consecutive video games at BYU and Auburn by scores of 52-35 and 41-27.
The Liberty recreation will likely be Arkansas’ first at residence since Oct. 1 and can start a three-game homestand. The Razorbacks will observe with video games towards Fifteenth-ranked LSU on Nov. 12 and Eleventh-ranked Ole Miss on Nov. 19.
An unranked Arkansas group will host a ranked group from exterior the Energy 5 for the primary time since November 2008, when the Razorbacks gained 30-23 over then-undefeated Tulsa, which was ranked 18th on the time.
