Greg McElroy dings Alabama for ‘sleep-walk’ win over Arkansas
After Alabama took a big lead over Arkansas Saturday, the Razorbacks quickly clawed back and found themselves with a chance to tie or take the lead late.
Ultimately the Tide’s defense came up with a stop and Alabama snuck by, but it wasn’t the ideal performance.
On Sunday, Greg McElroy called out Alabama for taking its foot off the gas late against the Razorbacks.
“It felt like Alabama collectively kind of exhaled,” McElroy said on Always College Football. “Like ‘We got it, on to the next. Tennessee’s next week.’ It felt like they exhaled, and then all of the sudden, Arkansas started to find themselves offensively, got into a little bit of a rhythm, next thing you know you’re in a dog fight, Arkansas has got the ball with the opportunity to go the length of the field to potentially win the game.”
McElroy didn’t shy away from saying that it was a sloppy performance and he believes Nick Saban will get on to his team for the sloppy second half.
“Not a great performance from Alabama, little bit of a sleep walk after what was a good start in the second half, something that Nick Saban’s not going to be real thrilled with,” McElroy said.
