Barry Odom speaks about building something sustainable at Arkansas ‘for a long, long time’
Barry Odom has developed a robust popularity as a top-shelf defensive coordinator within the SEC, and the Arkansas assistant seems pleased with the Razorbacks.
He spoke to reporters about why he likes teaching at Arkansas, and with Sam Pittman. The previous Missouri head coach has led the Razorbacks to a gentle enchancment on protection. Odom’s protection in 2021 allowed 22.9 factors per recreation – 12 fewer factors per recreation than in 2020 and the fewest for an Arkansas protection since 2014 – and allowed 84 fewer yards of whole protection.
Odom mentioned there’s worth in constructing a program like he did when he got here aboard with Pittman.
“I find it irresistible right here. I really like the state of Arkansas,” Odom mentioned. “This college means one thing to me…It’s enjoyable to return to work on a regular basis and I believe that we’re constructing one thing that’s going to be sustainable for a protracted, very long time.”
Odom mentioned Arkansas has nice management, and he enjoys working with Pittman.
“Not solely do I believe he’s an ideal chief, he’s a terrific chief of males, and he’s an ideal consultant of our program,” Odom mentioned. “I don’t must go take a job simply to say I’m going to take one other one. I’m pleased with the place I’m at, I really like teaching the protection. I actually like our workers.”
