Arkansas vs. Florida odds: Early point spread released on Razorbacks, Gators

In a late-season cross-divisional SEC contest, Florida is set to host Arkansas. The early point spread has now been released.

Florida will go into the game as a 6.5-point favorite, according to lines released by FanDuel. The over/under is set at 48.5 points.

The teams are on considerably different trajectories at the moment, with Arkansas a mess thanks to injuries and an offense that simply hasn’t been able to find any rhythm. To that end, head coach Sam Pittman parted ways with offensive coordinator Dan Enos, seeking better results.

The Hogs will have had an additional week to prepare for the shift in coordinators, with Kenny Guiton taking over those duties.

That could present some trickiness for Florida, which won’t have a whole lot of tape to go off of should Arkansas implement anything new.

The Razorbacks are desperately in need of wins to cool the heat on Pittman’s chair. After winning nine games two years ago, Pittman’s Razorbacks have been trending in the wrong direction and bowl eligibility seems almost out of realm of possibility at this point.

Arkansas would have to win four straight games, three against SEC teams.

Florida, though, is also not a surefire bowl team after losing to Georgia on Saturday. At 5-3, the Gators need one more win and don’t have a real cupcake left on the schedule.

Most predictive and analytics models give Florida its best chance to secure a win against Arkansas.

Florida’s remaining schedule beyond that includes road trips to ranked LSU and Missouri teams, as well as a home date with ranked Florida State. Every win from here on out will be at a premium.

Guiding the Gators has been Wisconsin quarterback transfer Graham Mertz, who has been one of the SEC’s most accurate passers and hasn’t been prone to making many mistakes.

With that consistent performance at quarterback, Florida has more often than not been able to score with opponents. The defense, though, has been a little up and down in recent weeks.

Arkansas and Florida last met in 2020, a 63-35 Florida win. Arkansas’ last win in the series came in 2016.

Florida holds the all-time series edge 10-2. The early point spread indicates this year’s contest could be more of the same.
