No. 12 Arkansas (36-14, 12-8 SEC) defeated No. 4 Tennessee (39-6, 17-3 SEC), 6-4, Sunday at Bogle Area in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
With the win, Arkansas tied the sequence and ended the Girl Vols’ nine-game successful streak.
Arkansas scored all of its runs on house runs.
Kacie Hoffmann gave the Razorbacks a 2-0 lead with a two-run house run within the second inning.
The Girl Vols tied the sport within the fifth inning with a two run double by Zaida Puni, scoring Amanda Ahlin and Brylee Mesusan.
Cylie Halvorson hit a three-run house run for a 5-2 Arkansas lead. Kristina Foreman hit a solo house run to increase Arkansas’ benefit to, 6-2.
Tennessee scored two runs within the seventh inning as McKenna Gibson and Puni every drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Puni was 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Girl Vols.
