Arkansas Represented by Anning & Rogers at SEC Career Tour

BIRMINGHAM – Razorbacks Amber Anning, from women’s track and field, along with Foster Rogers, from men’s tennis, will represent the University of Arkansas during the SEC Career Tour, which takes place November 28-30 in Atlanta.

Twenty-eight current and former Southeastern Conference student-athletes will participate in the eighth annual SEC Career Tour. This marks the seventh time student-athletes from each SEC university will convene in Atlanta to participate in the career tour leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game. The event was held virtually in 2020.

During the 2023 track and field season Anning was a member of the Arkansas national championship team indoors as she produced the fastest ever collegiate first leg split indoors of 51.47 seconds as the Razorbacks won the NCAA Indoor 4 x 400m relay in an all-time world best of 3:21.75, which bettered the indoor and outdoor collegiate record. Anning placed sixth in the NCAA Indoor 400m after a silver medal in the 400m at the SEC Indoor, where she broke the UA school record with a 50.68 performance.

After finishing fourth in the British Championships with an outdoor best of 51.62, Anning earned a bronze medal in the 4 x 400m relay at the World Athletics Championships, held in Budapest, Hungary, splitting 49.82 on the second leg in the final after a 49.77 carry in the prelims. The time of 3:21.04 by Great Britain ranked third overall in the world for the 2023 season.

During the 2022-23 men’s tennis season, Rogers made huge contributions to the Razorback lineup in doubles play. At the start of the dual season, Rogers and partner Melvin Manuel won four straight matches to help secure the doubles point for the Hogs. In singles play, Rogers posted a 7-3 overall record and earned four-straight wins to begin the dual season in non-conference play on court six for Arkansas. Rogers was named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year along with receiving CSC Academic All-Region honors this past season.

The goal of the career tour is to provide exposure for SEC student-athletes who are seeking career opportunities in various fields. The program allows student-athletes to connect with human resource recruiters and submit resumes for entry-level jobs, internships and gain valuable knowledge of professional branding.

The group is scheduled to visit the headquarters and meet with executives at several corporations and organizations in the Atlanta area including Mercedes Benz Stadium, Jackson Spalding, Microsoft, Learfield and Trilith Studios.

The 28 student-athletes will begin the three-day event at the site of the SEC Championship Game where they will meet with Mercedes-Benz Stadium staff and take a tour of the facility. Also included on the agenda during the week is a visit with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and executive coaching by Randy Hain, founder and president of Servian Partners and co-founder of the Leadership Foundry.
