Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has delayed multiple tax deadlines in multiple counties after severe storms struck much of Arkansas, her office said Thursday.
The Friday deadline for assessing personal property for taxes is suspended through June 30 in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Fulton, Grant, Greene, Madison, Marion, Nevada, Randolph, Sevier and Sharp counties, according to an executive order issued Thursday.
Other suspensions in those counties include:
The 10% penalty of all taxes in those counties due on all persons and property delinquent in assessment.
Quarterly estimated income tax payments due from Wednesday through July 31.
Fees for a duplicate driver’s license, instruction permit or identification cards from Wednesday through Aug. 31.
Payment of a $10 fee for expedited title processing service through Aug. 31.
Interest and penalties for failure to “timely register a vehicle” or renew a vehicle registration.
The governor cited her authority in the Emergency Services Act, having declared a regional emergency Sunday, according to the executive order.
“Strict compliance with certain statutes would hinder necessary action in coping with the emergency,” her order states.
