Coaches Introduced for Alabama Boys’ and Ladies’ All-Star Basketball Groups set to Face Mississippi subsequent March
MONTGOMERY – Coaches Rhett Harrelson of Enterprise Excessive Faculty and Darren Golson of Autaugaville Excessive Faculty have been chosen to educate the Alabama All-Star Boys’ basketball crew set to face Mississippi March 11, 2023, within the 33rd annual Alabama-Mississippi Basketball All-Star Traditional.
Harrelson led the Wildcats to a 25-6 document and the varsity’s first Class 7A state basketball championship final season. Golson guided Autaugaville to an ideal 30-0 season en path to the Class 1A state championship in 2001 and led the Eagles again to the state tourney in 2022 – ending 27-3 after falling to eventual state champion Covenant Christian within the semifinals.
Named to educate Alabama women’ all-stars had been Guntersville head coach Kenny Hill and Saint James head coach Katie Barton.
Hill’s Wildcats rolled to a 30-5 document final season and received the Class 5A state championship. Barton’s Trojans (25-7) reached the Class 4A State Tourney finals falling to Deshler within the championship recreation.
Brandon Dean, Director of the Alabama Excessive Faculty Athletic Administrators & Coaches Affiliation (AHSADCA), made the announcement Thursday. Dean mentioned the groups can be introduced subsequent March. Every crew is comprised of 15 seniors chosen by the AHSADCA All-Star Coaches’ Committee from school-submitted nominations.
