SWAC Baseball: Alabama State advance to the championship game

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama State superior to its first SWAC baseball championship recreation since 2019 with a 4-1 victory over Bethune-Cookman at Areas Area on Saturday afternoon.
Alabama State (33-23) used a whole recreation effort from Austin King (Fulton Miss.) to achieve the championship recreation. The senior pitched his first full recreation in a Hornet uniform giving up only one run whereas scattering eight hits and putting out a pair. He completed with a 127-pitch efficiency for Alabama State on Saturday.
Chris Lewis (Alabaster, Ala.) led the Hornets on the plate with a 2-for-3 efficiency whereas six different Hornets picked up a base hit within the win.
How It Occurred
B1 | Hunter Might (Slidell, La.) launched a two-run bomb to left heart subject to attain Corey King (Lithonia, Ga.) who was hit by a pitch to guide off the sport for the early lead (2-0, Alabama State).
T3 | Matthew Garcia doubled off the left subject wall over the pinnacle of Jabronski Williams (Troy, Ala.) to get on the board (2-1, Alabama State).
B3 | Cristopher DeGuzman (Fajardo, PR) hit his first dwelling run of the event, a solo shot to proper (3-1, Alabama State).
B6 | DeGuzman drove in one other run with a sacrifice fly to attain King from third (4-1, Alabama State).

Alabama State advances to the 2022 SWAC baseball championship recreation on Sunday afternoon towards the winner of the Florida A&M and Southern contest. The sport is ready for 12 pm first pitch on ESPN3.
