Recount affirms Plump’s win in Jefferson County district of Alabama House

Jefferson County election officers and Democratic Social gathering officers held a recount this morning within the runoff in District 55 within the Alabama Home of Representatives but it surely didn’t change the end result.

Fred “Coach” Plump acquired 952 votes to win the seat over the incumbent, Rep. Rod Scott, D-Fairfield, who acquired 919 votes.

Within the recount, every candidate gained 4 votes from the overall licensed after the June 21 runoff, when Plump had 948 votes and Scott had 915.

Scott requested the recount with the Jefferson County Democratic Social gathering. It was held within the Election Central Room within the Felony Justice Middle in Birmingham.
