New York man visiting family in Alabama drowns in Coosa River
A New York State man drowned within the Coosa River in Etowah County at the moment.
Southside police Capt. Jay Freeman stated the incident occurred at about 3:09 p.m.
Shawn Jay Hathaway, 31, of Owega, N.Y., went into the water on the Southside Metropolis Park and didn’t resurface.
Freeman stated Hathaway’s household was visiting different members of the family within the space.
His physique was recovered about an hour later, Freeman stated.
Gadsden police, Rainbow Metropolis police and fireplace, the Etowah County Sheriff’s Workplace and the Alabama Legislation Enforcement Company assisted in recovering the physique.
