Jay Cutler Gave Vols Victory Cigars After Win Over Alabama
Following Tennessee’s 52–49 upset win over Alabama, the Volunteers soccer crew celebrated with victory cigars within the locker room.
The celebration was a very long time coming, because it was the primary time Tennessee had crushed Alabama since 2006–the 12 months earlier than Nick Saban took over in Tuscaloosa.
So the place did the crew’s celebratory cigars come from? It seems that they got here from an unlikely supply.
Sports Illustrated‘s Ross Dellenger tweeted that the stogies got here from former Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler. Why would Cutler, a Commodores alum, present the cigars?
“He needed us to beat Bama,” a Tennessee administrator stated.
The locker room cigars had been only the start of a nightlong celebration in Knoxville following the monumental win. Whereas the Vols had been puffing victory stogies, their followers had been tearing down goalposts and dunking them into the Tennessee River.
