British company opening hydrogen plant in southwest Alabama

McINTOSH, Ala. (AP) — A British firm will assemble an $83 million plant in rural southwest Alabama to supply hydrogen gasoline.

Linde says it plans to construct the plant in Washington County, situated about 45 miles from the state’s principal port in Cellular.

Linde describes itself as a number one international gases and engineering firm that had $31 billion in gross sales final yr.

The manufacturing facility will create six manufacturing jobs and positions for 10 truck drivers. It’s scheduled to open in 2024.

The state says the undertaking reveals rural Alabama counties are ripe for growth.
