Auburn looks to flip another high-profile SEC commit during Big Cat Weekend

On Wednesday, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze managed to flip Demarcus Riddick, the state of Alabama’s No. 3 prospect from the 2024 class, from Georgia.

It appears that he is not finished flipping just yet.

Five-star wide receiver Perry Thompson is in town this weekend to participate in Big Cat Weekend, one of the year’s top recruiting events at Auburn. There have been rumors that he could switch things up and choose Auburn instead of keeping his commitment to Alabama. Those rumors appear to have plenty of smoke, as one recruiting expert has submitted a flip projection.

Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live submitted an expert prediction Friday that Thompson would spurn Alabama in favor of the Tigers. Lee has forecasted Auburn to land him at 75%.

Thompson, a five-star wide receiver from Foley High School, told Auburn Live in June that Auburn and Alabama were neck-in-neck. He says that the coaching staff makes him feel like family.

He committed to Alabama during the summer of 2022 but has visited Auburn five times since being offered on January 11 according to 247Sports, with this weekend being his sixth.

Since committing to Alabama last year, there are zero crystal ball predictions from 247Sports. However, On3 has given Auburn a 92.3% chance to flip him from Alabama.
