President Biden took flak for a joke that seemingly implied the Irish are silly.

After being launched by Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Biden started his remarks by turning to Rev. Thomas O’Connor, making the signal of the cross and joking, “Father, earlier than I start: Bless me, father, for I am about to sin.”

O’Connor jokingly responded by making the signal of the cross in response.

“Properly, I simply need you to know, I could also be Irish, however I am not silly,” Biden continued. “I married Dominic Giacoppa’s daughter.”

“Is both of his assertions true?” write Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.

“What did the Irish do to deserve this?” requested radio host Joe Cunningham.

“He simply referred to as the Irish silly,” wrote TimCast.com editor-in-chief Cassandra MacDonald.
