KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The University of Rhode Island announced that tuition will increase for in-state and out-of-state students in the next academic year.
The university’s Board of Trustees approved a 3.3% increase for in-state students and 3.8% for out-of-state students.
The original proposition called for a 3.6% increased tuition rate for in-state students and 3.9% for out-of-state students.
Following these changes, URI shared that they will increase their financial aid to more than $150M.
This plan ensures that URI will remain among the most affordable state universities in the Northeast, according to the university.
