Rhode Island health officials advise residents to avoid contact with Blackstone River

The state Division of Environmental Administration put out an advisory on Sunday about discharge of partly handled wastewater from the remedy plant in Woonsocket. Residents alongside the Blackstone River, from Cumberland Hill Highway in Woonsocket to the Slater Mill Dam in Pawtucket, are suggested to remain away from the water in the meanwhile.
