NORTH PROVIDENCE (WLNE) — A North Windfall Excessive College instructor was acknowledged at a shock ceremony on Wednesday.

Lisa Leaheey was named the 2023 Rhode Island Trainer of the Yr. Leaheey has taught English at the highschool for 22 years.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she supported a number of educators in changing their school rooms to on-line studying areas.

“Lisa is the sort of instructor and chief who embodies the qualities of a wonderful educator,” mentioned Rhode Island Division of Training Commissioner Angélica Infante-Inexperienced. “She is an revolutionary, artistic, and energetic educator who works to make sure all college students have partaking studying alternatives.”

Lisa will now work alongside the Division of Training all through the 2022-2023 faculty 12 months to help training statewide.
