There certainly is no shortage of calendar pinup contests.
But forget pets and firefighters — the American Association of State Troopers wants to know which state has the “Best Looking Cruiser.”

And Rhode Island wants to win.
Not every state has entered, but those that have, certainly have some…creative entries.
From parking cruisers under helicopters (Alaksa), next to alligators (Florida), and in a herd of bison (Kansas), state law enforcement agencies are trying to put their best wheels forward to win.
Rhode Island’s entry is a classic — a cruiser at night, with the lights of the Pell Newport Bridge behind it.
“VOTE: We’ve entered ‘America’s Best Looking Cruiser Calendar Contest’ hosted by the American Association of State Troopers and voting begins today,” said the Rhode Island State Police (RISP). “Vote here for our patriotic cruiser.”
Don’t forget, Rhode Island State Troopers once took top honors for best uniforms.
Who could forget when then-Trooper Brendan Doherty (who would rise through the ranks to Colonel of the Rhode Island State Police) modeled his RISP attire on David Letterman?
