Beloved manatee spotted in Rhode Island waters found dead, officials confirm
A manatee spotted in several Rhode Island waterways is believed to have died.
Mystic Aquarium confirmed a manatee was found dead offshore this week.
Manatees aren’t usually seen in Rhode Island, so it’s thought to be the same one spotted in Charlestown last month.
Officials said they were working on plans for a rescue.
