Pittsburgh To Develop Comprehensive Plan
The Pittsburgh City Council approved $6 million in city funds to develop a comprehensive plan for the city, reports Hallie Lauer in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “When finished, it is meant to include recommendations to overhaul the city’s zoning code, address climate change and combat historical racial and social injustices in Pittsburgh.”
The plan includes a $3.3 million contract to create the plan and $2.6 million to fund community engagement efforts over a two-year period. Some city councilmembers expressed concern about the cost, but ultimately voted by a narrow margin to approve the plan.
