PITTSBURG, Kan. (WIBW) – A woman suffered serious injuries when the car she was driving collided with a semitrailer Wednesday afternoon in Crawford County in southeast Kansas, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 3 p.m. Thursday near W. 4th Street and S. 200th Street, just west of Pittsburg.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1998 Peterbilt semitrailer was westbound on W. 4th — which also serves as K-126 highway at that location — when it attempted to make a left-turn into a parking lot.

As it was making the turn, a 2002 Mercury Sable that was eastbound on W. 4th struck the rear of the semi’s trailer.
