Pitt State women’s camp to bring 150+ teams to Pittsburg – KOAM

Pitt State’s annual ladies’s crew camp begins on Wednesday.

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Pitt State ladies’s basketball highschool crew cam brings in groups from throughout the area – with groups from Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado and extra coming to Pittsburg up to now.

“This week we’ll have 71 groups after which we’ll have 84 subsequent week,” says PSU ladies’s basketball head coach Amanda Davied, “It’s a variety of groups, a variety of expertise and a variety of nice coaches that we’ve been capable of construct nice relationships with.”

The camp is break up into two periods, with the primary operating from this Wednesday to Friday. The second session will likely be subsequent Wednesday to Friday.

In these six days, greater than 150 groups will mess around 600 video games in six completely different places within the Pittsburg space as a part of the camp. Video games are held at Pitt State’s Weede Gymnasium, Pitt State’s rec middle, Pittsburg Excessive College, Pittsburg Neighborhood Center College, St. Mary’s Colgan Catholic Excessive College and Frontenac Excessive College.

For native groups it’s an opportunity to push themselves towards new and hard competitors.

“We get to see a variety of completely different competitors for our youngsters. We put our youngsters within the hardest division yearly,” says Carl Junction women head coach Brad Shorter, “We see a variety of nice basketball. It’s probably not about wins and losses, however it’s about bettering. We give our youngsters the chance to form of increase their sport and progress and perhaps put some extra instruments of their bag earlier than the season.”

For Pitt State it provides the teaching employees an opportunity to see potential recruits – with a number of campers being signed to play for the Gorillas through the years.

“Sometimes, we might get a dedication from this camp, or proper earlier than or proper after,” Davied says, “We get them right here on campus and get them to satisfy our gamers and our employees and become involved in the neighborhood.
