Mercedes (Marcie) was born in Pittsburg, PA. on July 20, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mercedes (Fischer) Burns.

She spent her early years in Pittsburg, PA the place she graduated from Gladstone Excessive College in 1967.
