Published

A fireplace at a McAlester church closed a polling location Tuesday.

The Meeting of God was the polling spot for 2 McAlester precincts, however after the hearth broke out round 5:30 a.m., the polling web site for Precinct 7 and Precinct 40 for the state’s main elections Tuesday was moved to the Pittsburg County Election Board workplace, 109 E. Carl Albert Parkway, in response to Pittsburg County Election Board officers.

Fireplace investigators are working to find out the reason for the hearth.
