Crews battling 200 acre vegetation fire in Pittsburg, prompting evacuations, fire officials say

PITTSBURG, Cailf. (KGO) — A vegetation fireplace has prompted evacuations in Pittsburg early Friday morning.

Hearth officers from Contra Costa Hearth and CAL FIRE are working to regulate the 200 acre grass fireplace burning by the areas of Jacqueline Dr, Daffodil Dr. and Serrano Method.

The hearth has been dubbed the Jacqueline Hearth.

The evacuation space contains houses within the space that’s: north of Jacqueline Drive, south of West Leland Highway, east of Bailey Highway and west of San Remo Method, in accordance with the Contra Costa County Group Warning System.

Residents are being informed to go to the Safeway car parking zone on Bailey Highway, close to Freeway 4 in PIttsburg.
