16-year-old charged in attempted robbery at Target parking lot at Christiana Mall

NEWARK, Delaware (WPVI) — A 16-year-old male has been arrested for an tried theft following an tried carjacking on the Christiana Mall in late March, Delaware State Police introduced Friday.

The teenager has been charged with tried theft 2nd diploma.

The incident occurred round 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 within the car parking zone of the Goal on the Christiana Mall in Newark, New Fort County.

Police say a 14-year-old boy was returning to his brother’s car within the car parking zone when he was approached by the suspect.

The suspect instructed the sufferer to provide him every thing, police mentioned.

The sufferer tried to run away, however fell to the bottom.

Police mentioned the 16-year-old suspect stood overtop the sufferer, took his keys and demanded him to get within the car.

Police mentioned the sufferer refused and bumped into the meals courtroom of the mall.

The car was later positioned within the car parking zone working with the doorways open.

The sufferer was not injured within the incident.

Police mentioned their investigation led troopers to establish the 16-year-old because the suspect.

He turned himself into Troop 2 on Thursday.

The suspect was arraigned within the New Fort County Household Courtroom. He was dedicated to the New Fort County Detention Middle on $5,000 safe bond.
