School board member resigns after saying she was against voting for a ‘cis, white male.’

A Pennsylvania faculty board member resigned after saying final week at assembly she was towards voting for a “cis, white male” for board president.

Jennifer Solot, a board member with the Higher Moreland College District, a suburb north of Philadelphia, made the feedback throughout a Dec. 6 assembly after board members nominated two candidates for board president.

The nominees, in keeping with a video of the assembly, had been April Stainback and Greg D’Elia.

After saying D’Elia would make an “glorious president,” Solot stated she was going to vote for the incumbent president Stainback.

“I really feel that electing the one cis, white male on this board, president of this district, sends the flawed message to our neighborhood,” Solot stated. “A message that’s opposite to what we, as a board, have been attempting to perform. I feel that it can be crucial that we observe what we preach.
