Pennsylvania father drowns after being swept to sea at New Jersey beach

A Pennsylvania man who was swimming together with his son at a New Jersey seashore has died after getting swept out to sea, reviews say. 

The incident occurred round 12:30 p.m. Thursday alongside part of seashore in Ocean Metropolis that was not protected by lifeguards, in accordance with Fox5 NY. 

Police informed the station that Shawn Reilly, 56, was swimming together with his 21-year-old son when he acquired caught up in tough surf. 

Reilly’s son tried to assist his struggling father however ended up getting caught within the currents himself, investigators added.

Three lifeguards from the Ocean Metropolis Seaside Patrol then entered the water and rescued each males, Fox5 NY reviews. 

Reilly reportedly was discovered unresponsive and first responders began performing CPR. 

He later was pronounced lifeless at an area hospital.
