2 children struck, killed while playing on train tracks in Pennsylvania
Two kids have been killed once they have been struck by an Amtrak practice whereas enjoying on the tracks in Chester, Pennsylvania, officers and witnesses say. A couple of different kids escaped unharmed.
The accident occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when Amtrak practice 161 – which was heading from New York to Washington, D.C. – struck two individuals in Chester. Each kids have been pronounced lifeless.
Tracey, a neighborhood resident, stated she noticed about 5 to 7 kids on the tracks shortly earlier than the accident.
“I stated, ‘Ya’ll come down earlier than you will have an accident,’ and so they simply laughed and went about their enterprise,” Tracey advised a reporter from WPVI-TV. “I simply want the youngsters would have listened. And I’m simply so sorry.”
An Amtrak spokesman stated the realm is fenced and has “no trespassing” indicators.
Chester Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland stated town urges kids to avoid the tracks. “It’s early. We don’t know precisely what their motive for being there [was],” he stated. “Our prayers exit to members of the family.”
