TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gasoline costs have elevated dramatically once more in New Jersey and across the nation because the Memorial Day weekend approaches.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the common value of a gallon of standard gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $4.77, up 27 cents from final week. Drivers have been paying $3.07 a gallon on common a yr in the past right now.

The nationwide common value for a gallon of standard gasoline was $4.59, up one other 16 cents from final week. Drivers have been paying $3.04 a gallon on common a yr in the past right now.

Analysts attribute the rise primarily to the excessive price of crude oil, which is hovering close to $110 a barrel, with tighter provide and elevated seasonal demand is pushing pump costs larger.
