Flooding, Wind Gusts Possible In Hoboken Tuesday Into Wednesday: See NWS Map
HOBOKEN, NJ — The National Weather Service doesn’t often say that river flooding is “likely” in North Jersey, but last time they did, in mid December, there was significant river flooding.
With weather models predicting heavy rains from late Tuesday night into Wednesday in and around the Hoboken area, the NWS has issued a new map (below) saying significant river flooding is “possible” in Hoboken and “likely” just west of the area. The most hazardous conditions in Hoboken could occur early Wednesday.
A flood watch is in effect from Tuesday at 6 p.m. to Wednesday at 6 p.m. High tide in Hoboken will be 7:17 a.m. Wednesday morning, at 5 feet.
The forecast for Hoboken for Tuesday night says: “Winds could gust as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.”
