Wrong-Way Driver Arrested

CONCORD, New Hampshire – On September 24, 2023, at approximately 2:53 a.m., State Police received multiple reports of a wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes on Interstate 93 at mile marker 48 in the town of Canterbury. 

A short time later, Sergeant Mark Barrett of the New Hampshire State Police Troop D Barracks located the vehicle traveling the opposite way on I-93 at mile marker 42 in the city of Concord. Sergeant Barrett was able to successfully stop the motor vehicle in the left lane and made contact with the lone operator. 

The operator was identified as: 
Randolph P. Griffin Jr.
Age: 25 
Tilton, NH 

After a roadside investigation conducted by Trooper Kelsey Scott, GRIFFIN Jr. was arrested for reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving while intoxicated, operating without a valid license and breach of bail.

GRIFFIN Jr. was held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections and is due to appear at the Merrimack Superior Court on September 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
