New 'diaper spa' where adults roleplay as babies shocks tiny New Hampshire town
A new spa catering to “diaper-wearing” adults who want to role-play as young children has opened in a small town in New Hampshire, alarming some local residents.
“The Diaper Spa,” in Atkinson, N.H., says it is an “ageplay-friendly, adult diaper spa” to “nurture and pamper all diaper lovers and enthusiasts in richly immersive experiences.”
The spa is a “safe and judgment-free zone” for visitors to pamper themselves with “snacks…playtime, story time, nap time, cuddle time, changing time, coloring, nursery rhymes and sing-a-longs,” according to its website.
Services advertised include an “Adult Baby-Diaper Lover” (ABDL) nursery spa care at $300 an hour, virtual playdates at $200 an hour, and an all-day “premier spa experience for the little one inside of you” for $1500.

“In the summer, you can play with your water wings and floaties poolside, picnic under the tree with your teddy bear, play marbles on the patio, or swing on the front porch swing and serve tea to your dollies on the porch. In the winter, we can make snow angels, build snowmen, drink hot cocoa from beneath clouds of whipped cream and sprinkles, and decorate gingerbread men or sugar cookies,” the spa’s website advertises.
But some residents are not happy about the new business in their small town, which sits on the border of Massachusetts with a population of 7,000, according to the 2020 census.
Mother of three Kayla Gallagher told The Eagle-Tribune that she is concerned because the spa is close to a children’s park and fears it caters to clients with a sexual fetish.
“That is something that I will never be willing to expose my kids to, so now we will no longer be able to use that park,” she told the paper, according to Boston.com.
Local resident Mike Vigliotta was against the spa for similar reasons.

“I’m sure there’s a lot of kids that live around here, and what type of people are going to do that?” he told WHDH 7News. “People who are looking at children or being children by wearing diapers and being treated like a baby. That kind of concerns me. Who knows what that leads to.”
Spa owner Dr. Colleen Ann Murphy, who said she is a board-certified integrative medicine physician and sexologist and recently settled in Atkinson, explained that her spa is meant to be a place of healing for people who’ve experienced trauma.
“It helps them process whatever trauma it was,” Murphy told WHDH. “A lot of times it’s childhood trauma when they were in diapers or just getting out of diapers and they want to feel that safety that they had before that.”
Locals started a petition to urge Atkinson officials to reject any business and zoning licenses and applications for the spa.
“It has come to our attention that this business is advertised to individuals whose sexual fetish involves childlike behaviors. This business, per their website, has advertised our town playground to their potential clientele. Thus their sexual fetish will involve the town park where our children play. In light of these concerns, we urgently request the town reject any business and zoning licenses and applications for this business,” the petition posted to Change.org on January 28 reads.
Murphy denied that her services would include public trips to the park and said she took steps to clear up any confusion on her website.
She told Fox News Digital, “I have never included field trips or taken any clients to the park in my listed services. To avoid any confusion or concerns, I have removed that descriptive language from my website, which described my neighborhood and clarified that all services The Diaper Spa provides are exclusively offered on the premises.”
Policies on the spa’s website say “absolutely no sexual interaction” is allowed and clients are subject to a screening on the National Sex Offender Database prior to booking appointments.
“The Diaper Spa” owner said it was a common misconception that “Adult Baby-Diaper Lovers” are “pedophiles, perverts, and sex offenders.” (iStock)
Murphy was adamant that the spa is not meant to cater to “perverts.”
“One of the most common misconceptions about ABDL is the association with pedophiles, perverts, and sex offenders,” she told Fox News. “This is not true, and I have never encountered anyone of that nature in my work or research.”
“ABDL, or Adult Baby Diaper Lover, is a diverse community with various individuals and their unique wants and needs. In my work, I primarily focus on individuals who see this lifestyle as a physical or emotional necessity rather than entertainment. All my services are platonic and performed solely on my own property,” she said.
“For those I serve, being a part of this community brings comfort and solace, providing a haven from the stresses, traumas, and triggers they have faced or continue to face,” she continued, giving examples of “veterans with incontinence, individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, and victims of trauma and abuse” as potential clients.
“The Diaper Spa was created to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for these individuals to process, decompress, and regress through various therapeutic activities,” she added.
While the spa waits for zoning board issues to be resolved before she can see clients, she said, “The most in-demand services at the moment are telehealth services and life coaching.”
(Dr. Colleen Ann Murphy is offering an unusual “spa” experience.)
Murphy expressed concern to Fox News that “inflammatory and salacious” media attention about her spa could “severely damage” those with “trauma, anxiety, histories of abuse, and stress triggers” and “further contribute to unfounded fears and worries within the community.”

She said she’s been dismayed by the initial reaction from neighbors but is optimistic that the community will come around over time.
“People tend to fear anything that they fail to comprehend,” she told Boston.com.
“However, I know that the people in this community are reasonable and intelligent, and I am optimistic that, with time, their concerns will dissipate, and we all will resume enjoying this beautiful life we are all so blessed to have here,” she said.

CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A Northern Michigan man accused of torching a Charlevoix County farm is now behind bars in New Hampshire.
Investigators said 23-year-old Daniel Fournier is linked to a January fire that caused an estimated $500,000 in damage.
Authorities tracked him to Merrimack, where he was arrested during a traffic stop while allegedly carrying a loaded pistol.
A search of his apartment turned up more firearms, suspected incendiary devices and evidence investigators say ties him to the Michigan arson.
Fournier is fighting extradition and remains jailed pending another court hearing.

Masked men with baseball bats terrorize 12-year-old during NH home invasion
Two people are facing charges after they allegedly broke into a New Hampshire home on Tuesday wearing black masks and armed with baseball bats, all while a 12-year-old was inside.
Danville police said they received a call around 9 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a home invasion on Beatrice Street. A 12-year-old was home alone on a video chat with his friend when three people wearing black masks and armed with baseball bats broke through his front door. The 12-year-old’s friend quickly called 911.
According to police, the three people were attempting to locate the child’s father and threatened the father with serious bodily injury.
An officer soon arrived at the scene, set a perimeter, and called in two K9 units.
A search of the area didn’t initially turn up anything, but a K9 track led officers to another nearby home. Police interviewed the resident of the mobile home, identified as Nathan Wilder, who denied any involvement in the home invasion.
As the investigation continued, police learned that the original caller had heard from some other friends that one of the suspects in the home invasion had bragged about being involved. They determined that Nathan Wilder, John Wilder and a juvenile were the three people who had broken into the home.
John Wilder admitted to police that he had broken into the home on Beatrice Street and said that Nathan Wilder and a juvenile had assisted him.
Police were able to locate and seized three baseball bats, two ski masks and a few articles of clothing used in the crime.
John and Nathan Wilder were arrested and the juvenile who was involved was released to a parent.
John Wilder is charged with burglary with a weapon, criminal threat with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. Nathan Wilder is charged with with burglary with a weapon and criminal threat with a deadly weapon. Both men are currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Former NH legislator sentenced to decades behind bars for exploitation of toddlers
A former New Hampshire state representative was sentenced to more than 33 years in prison for involvement in a child exploitation case — almost double the mandatory minimum.
Stacie Marie Laughton, 42, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation of children after soliciting and receiving nude photos of three toddlers from an ex-girlfriend who worked at a daycare.
Lindsay Groves, 41, of Hudson, N.H., was sentenced to almost 22 years in prison earlier this month after pleading guilty to the same charges as well as an additional count of distribution of child pornography.
According to court documents, Groves took the photos of the victims in 2023 at Creative Minds daycare in Tyngsboro, where she was a teacher, during designated bathroom breaks and nap times.
She then sent the photos to Laughton, who requested the images and asked that Grove touch one of the minor’s genitals. In the conversation included in the records, the pair sexualizes the victims.
“Did the girl give you an issue,” Laughton texted after receiving the photos.
“No… the boy didn’t either,” Groves texted back.
In a sentencing memorandum, Laughton’s counsel had argued that she should receive a shorter sentence than Groves and asked for the minimum mandatory sentence, which would have 15 years for each count to be served concurrently.
“Stacie Laughton is a complex 42-year-old woman,” the memo said, noting that she was the first openly transgender woman to be elected to the New Hampshire legislature.
The filing described Laughton’s history of mental health, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and trauma as mitigating factors the judge should consider.
“One of the few consistencies in Ms. Laughton’s life is her challenges with mental health illnesses,” the memo said. “She began receiving mental health treatment at the age of four and has been in and out of extensive treatment programs ever since.”
The death of Laughton’s wife in 2020 and a tumultuous relationship with Groves also added to her mental health struggles, the memo said, stating that the defendant drank every day and had tried heroin for the first time leading up to her arrest.
A doctor quoted in the filing said that Laughton likely had a low IQ, tied in part to her premature birth, as well as “normal sexual interests.”
“This finding shows both how caught up Ms. Laughton was in her relationship with Groves that she participated in activity counter to this and is … an important factor in considering whether Ms. Laughton would be a future threat upon release,” the memo said.
The filing described Laughton’s actions as “horrendous, reprehensible, and shocking,” but said that even though the crimes were “utterly inexcusable,” she should still receive a shorter sentence than her codefendant out of a sense of justice.
However, in their own sentencing memo, federal prosecutors requested Laughton receive 40 years in prison.
“These crimes only came to light when Laughton reported them in an apparent attempt to punish Groves for ending their relationship,” prosecutors wrote. “The defendant, of course, did not disclose her own role in the creation of the imagery.”
“She ultimately admitted that she told Groves to touch one child’s penis, and claimed that she was feeding Groves’s attraction to children,” their memo said.
The prosecutors said that Laughton’s voice was the “more prominent one” in the conversation about exploiting children.
In addition to her prison sentence, Laughton will also serve five years of supervised release.
Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said in a statement that she felt the sentence fit the crime.
“The victims in this case were toddlers – children who were not yet old enough to care for themselves and, in some cases, not even fully verbal. Everyone who learns about the conduct in this case should be outraged,” United States Attorney Leah Foley said in a statement. “The sentences imposed reflect the depravity of the conduct and the seriousness of the crimes. My office will seek the most serious charges and the stiffest sentences for anyone who preys on children.”
