Mass. teen charged with drunken boating after crash near NH yacht club
SUNAPEE, N.H. — A 19-year-old from Massachusetts is accused of being drunk when he crashed a ship on Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire.
Police say Michael Smith, of Hingham, was behind the wheel of a ship that went about 20 toes ashore, resting on a steep hill in timber and brush.
The crash occurred Saturday round 10 p.m. close to the Lake Sunapee Yacht Membership, in accordance with New Hampshire State Police. Police say the impression could possibly be heard throughout the lake at Blodgett Touchdown in Newbury, N.H.
Smith and one other individual have been nonetheless within the boat when emergency crews arrived. Each have been unhurt.
Smith was arrested and charged with boating whereas intoxicated.
