Ashley, according to superior court records, was accused of acts prohibited and drug sale, transport, and manufacture out of Barnstead in June 2012. He was formally charged in September of that year. After several hearings and motions to suppress, Ashley pleaded to a single felony count of acts prohibited while five other charges were dropped. He was sentenced in July 2013 to 12 months suspended for two years.

Lagace said the incident was an ongoing investigation and anyone who had information about the case but had not talked to investigators was asked to contact Trooper First Class Amanda Johnson at Amanda.L.Johnson@dos.nh.gov.
