Watch: Ceiling panel falls, narrowly misses Massachusetts subway rider inside station

A subway rider is grateful to be alive and effectively after escaping hurt when a ceiling panel fell inside a prepare station.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority shared video of the March 1 incident on the Harvard Station in Cambridge.

The video confirmed the panel narrowly lacking the commuter because it plummeted to the bottom. It is estimated the piece weighed roughly 25 kilos.

The MBTA stated its findings urged that water had constructed up within the panel insulation, which was put in round 1980. Officers consider the metallic and the rivets then corroded. 

Native information retailers recognized the rider as Cianna Navarro, who stated she was in a “state of shock” following the incident.

“I didn’t actually perceive the severity of it till the MBTA got here out and stated it was as much as 25 kilos,” Navarro stated. “As soon as I had gathered that data, it form of felt like a second wave of shock, of understanding how dangerous it probably may’ve been.”

Officers have eliminated round 100 ceiling panels after the incident.
