Letter: What Massachusetts should do in response to Florida governor’s political ploy with migrants

To the editor: In an effort to make a political level, the governor of Florida despatched 50 undocumented immigrants to Martha’s Winery with out letting anybody there know they have been coming.

The response from the progressives to this point has been to escalate this political stupidity. Nevertheless, as Mark Twain noticed: “By no means argue with silly individuals. They’ll drag you all the way down to their stage, then beat you with expertise.”

So, as an alternative of enjoying his recreation, I might recommend we ask him to ship extra immigrants who’re keen to return to Massachusetts. “Assist Wished” indicators are posted at virtually each enterprise. A whole lot of those jobs are going unfilled. We want people who find themselves keen and wanting to work.

Sounds to me like a win-win thought. Present immigrants with the chance to raised their lives and supply us with a pool of hardworking workers. That’s precisely what my grandparents did 100 years in the past after they emigrated.

Some will declare that these undocumented immigrants will probably be a drain on our financial system. In reality, undocumented immigrants aren’t eligible for any advantages from the U.S. authorities. However, as Trump and his toadies have realized, “Why let the details get in the way in which of the reality?”
