Former MA First Lady To Speak At North Shore Chamber 'Thrive' Luncheon
BEVERLY, MA — Lauren Baker, a Swampscott resident and the former First Lady of Massachusetts will speak at the next North Shore Chamber of Commerce “Thrive” luncheon as part of the Chamber’s initiative to empower women at all stages of their careers.
Baker took over the role of Chief Executive Officer of Wonderfund after Charlie Baker’s final term as governor.
Wonderfund is a private nonprofit that serves the 43,000 children engaged with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Through a partnership with DCF, the organization provides resources and emergency aid, and funds enrichment opportunities for the
children, such as sports, extracurricular activities or camps.
The event will be on Jan. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blue Ocean Event Center in Salisbury.
Baker joined the Wonderfund, previously called the DCF Kids Fund, in 2015 and expanded her role as part of its relaunch in 2017 before becoming CEO last year.
Karen Andreas, CEO of the North Shore Chamber and former journalist, will lead the conversation with Baker. They will discuss her past and present roles, along with her passion for helping children.
The program begins at noon. Admission is $65 for Chamber members, $85 for non-members. Registration is required.
