OCEAN PARK – Elisabeth Ok. Ward, 73, resident of the Pines in Ocean Park and previously of Previous Orchard Seashore, handed away on the Gosnell Hospice Home in Scarborough on Jan. 8, 2023.

She was born Sept. 4, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Marion Ward and Max Kronstein. A resident of New York Metropolis for the primary 40 years of her life, she earned her bachelor and grasp levels at New York College and was an English and historical past trainer for grades seven to 12 on the Barnard Faculty in New York. She pursued publish graduate research at NYU and Oxford College in England. When Barnard Faculty closed, Elisabeth moved to North Conway, New Hampshire, and subsequently to Previous Orchard Seashore, Maine, the place she served in its place trainer in space faculties, volunteered on the York Institute Museum in Saco, and labored summers at Previous Orchard Seashore’s Playland. Elisabeth led a contemplative life and felt shut kinship with church convents as an affiliate of Good Shepherd Bay View and St. Mary’s Convent in Greenwich, New York, in addition to serving as a prayer intercessor for the Breakthrough Ministry. Previous to changing into a Catholic in 1995, she was a lay eucharistic minister within the Episcopal Church.

A memorial service might be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral House, 365 Maine St., Saco, with visiting hour at 10 a.m.
