VASSALBORO — Ten sport wardens, together with three who might be assigned to Franklin County, graduated Friday from the Superior Warden College on the Maine Prison Justice Academy.
Maddie Killian of Ipswich, Massachusetts, might be assigned to the Rangeley district; Alex Maxsimic of Holden to the Farmington district; and Garrett Moody of Topsham to the Eustis district.
The wardens accomplished a 12-week academy that centered on topics particular to the Warden Service, together with search and rescue, fish and wildlife legal guidelines and rules, boating, fishing, looking, ATVing, snowmobiling and others.
The course adopted the 18-week Fundamental Legislation Enforcement Coaching Program required of Maine legislation enforcement officers, in response to a Warden Service information launch.
“As an company, we possess and keep a popularity that’s envied by different states,” Maine Division of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Judy Camusao advised the graduates. “That popularity was earned by the folks you’re employed with, and people who got here earlier than you. It was earned by a dedication to honesty, equity, perseverance, compassion, and dedication. It now could be as much as you, to make that very same dedication to these core values that all of us share, to uphold and improve the popularity of the Division and the Maine Warden Service.”
Others graduates are: Chris Carney, Wells, Kennebunk district; Emerson Duplissie-Cyr, Caribou, Saco district; Tyler Harhart, Lugoff, South Carolina, Kittery district; Julia Horst, Chatham, New York, Sidney district; Hunter Howard, Skowhegan, Augusta district; Caleb Nicholas, Indian Township, Passamaquoddy territories; and Arron Rideout, Lincoln, Bangor district.
