“Coppélia” is a three-act ballet for all ages. Dr. Coppelius is an inventor of toys who created a life-size dancing doll so lifelike that Franz, a village youth, turns into infatuated with it and units apart his true coronary heart’s need, Swanhilda. Swanhilda reveals his folly by dressing because the doll, pretending to make it come to life, and finally saving him from an premature finish by the hands of the inventor.
The ballet sports activities costumes and units by Manufacturing Designer Gail Csoboth and unique staging and choreography by New York Metropolis Ballet alumna and Inventive Director Linda MacArthur Miele.
Emma Davis, Adrienne Pelletier and Rhiannon Pelletier share the function of Swanhilda, with Arie Eiten and Trevor Seymour taking part in Franz. Veteran Glenn Davis performs Dr. Coppelius. Maine State Ballet firm dancers spherical out the remainder of the forged.
