Maine Man Dies Months After Assault in Prison Cell

WINDHAM, Maine (AP) — A Maine man who was incarnated at a Windham jail has died about 4 months after an assault in his cell that hospitalized him with a traumatic mind harm.

The Maine Division of Corrections stated Renaldo Jones, 30, died Tuesday. State officers haven’t launched details about the trigger or circumstances surrounding Jones’ loss of life, The Portland Press Herald reported Tuesday.

The Jones household stated that state investigators instructed them they believed that Jones was attacked by the individual that shared his cell in January. He was a hospitalized with a traumatic mind harm at Maine Medical Middle. Investigators didn’t file legal expenses towards the individual.

The Maine State Police Main Crimes Unit is investigating the circumstances round Jones’ loss of life, the newspaper stated.

Shannon Moss, a state police spokesperson, stated they can’t reveal particulars of an ongoing investigation “however we’ll launch further info as quickly because it’s acceptable.”
