Maine family sues Amazon after delivery driver causes fatal crash
A Maine household is suing on-line retail big Amazon after a supply driver fatally struck a person standing alongside I-295 in Topsham two years in the past.
The lawsuit accuses Amazon of negligence in its hiring of the Massachusetts contractor that employed the motive force. The motive force, Nasser Tibaijuka, and his employer are additionally defendants.
Joe Fisher, a 41-year-old fisherman from Woolwich, was driving his household to a tenting trip when the crash occurred on July 3, 2020. He had pulled over to test his boat trailer when the field truck struck him, throwing him onto the freeway. He died 10 days later.
He’s survived by a widow and three youngsters who all noticed the crash. They’re plaintiffs within the civil lawsuit.
The household says that Tibaijuka was drained and distracted by his cellular phone on the time of the crash.
