Fall art opening at Maine Coastal Islands Art Gallery

The Maine Coastal Islands Artwork Gallery is that includes two native artists at a gap Friday, September 16, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

John Bisignano (posthumous; 1929-2021) of Owls Head.  

John used artwork to speak the considerable magnificence within the group and types of nature. This present will carry a novel perspective to the viewer of the wonder that’s the Midcoast. John’s creations are exterior of the norm and convey a way of shock and wonderment.  John grew up in abject poverty, but stored his ardour for artwork alive. In mid-life he moved to mid-coast Maine. Earlier than his dying, he arrange a memorial scholarship fund by means of Maine Neighborhood Basis for college students who want to pursue artwork training.  Gross sales of artwork items on this exhibition will assist this fund.  

Heather Burgess, of Searsport, is a stained glass artist. Heather tends to gravitate towards nature and free fashioned objects; very not often will you see her body one thing. Her present can be a mix of sea life and avian items.  She is a touring vet tech by day and a stained glass artist by night time. Her aspiration is to personal just a little glass store by the ocean. She has a supportive household of two kids, her husband and 5 cats.

This artwork present can be on show by means of December 3 (which is a vacation open home) on the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Customer Heart, 9 Water St. in Rockland.   The galleries are open Monday by means of Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., besides holidays, and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by means of October. All artwork gross sales assist each the artists and the Associates of Maine Coastal Islands Nationwide Wildlife Refuge.
